Hi!

Anna here from Terracotta Travel, giving you the inside scoop on unique culture and fashion destinations. I have spent the last decade traveling, experiencing new cultures, and breaking ground in just about every corner of the globe. I started Terracotta Travel to give curious world explorers life changing experiences with all the perks that luxury travel has to offer. At Terracotta, we pride ourselves on our bespoke journeys that leave our clients with a lifetime of memories.

Here are three of my favorite fashion destinations around the world.

Marrakech, Morocco

Known for its Almohad-inspired red clay buildings and lively ambiance, Marrakech is a true gem of Moroccan handicrafts where vibrant clothing and accessories can be found around every street corner.

Explore the chic neighborhood of Guéliz, with its lush, Art Deco Majorelle Garden, the endlessly stylish and inspiring Yves Saint Laurent Museum, and a wealth of colorful shops and print filled showrooms. I recommend stopping into 33 Rue Majorelle, full of designs from up-and-coming Moroccan designers, and Kaftan Queen, which sells delicately beaded kaftans and embroidered kimonos. While you’re in town, take a privately guided tour through the famous, bustling souks to browse one-of-a-kind handcrafted treasures—I highly recommend buying a colorful layered skirt or pashmina.

Andalusia

This exotic region of Spain is overflowing with the historic influences of Muslim, Jewish, and Christian heritage. Fly into Madrid and head to Cordoba, home to the spectacular Calahorra Tower, an ancient gate built by the Moors. Be sure to pop into Meryan, a shop known for it’s handcrafted leather bags, then continue towards Granada, where you’ll find the magnificent, UNESCO-listed Alhambra Palace.

Hop on a high speed train to Madrid, where more shopping and sightseeing is right at your fingertips. The stylish district of Barrio de Salamanca, home of the golden mile, is lined with international designer stores from the likes of Louis Vuitton, Armani, Loewe, and Kenzo. In the heart of Madrid you’ll find Seseña, one of the only shops that still sells traditional Spanish capes. Retiro Park is perfect for snapping a stunning fashion-forward photo—arrive just before sunset and head to the central pond to capture a magical pink-hued scene.

Rajasthan

Home to some of India’s most fascinating historical and cultural sites, as well as a booming fashion hub, Rajasthan is a treasure just waiting to be discovered. Head to Jaipur, known as The Pink City due to it’s pink-hued walls and palaces. Wander through the kaleidoscopic streets of Johari Bazaar, filled with exquisite traditional Kundan jewelry encrusted with dazzling gems. After perusing for the perfect piece, stroll through the pastel pink City Palace to snap some stunning photos of this iconic landmark. For more shopping, take a four-hour train ride to Jodhpur and make a beeline for Nai Sarak Bazaar to buy a bandeja printed skirt or a kurti, a long shirt dress that comes in any color you can dream of.
