This the season to give thanks and, with Thanksgiving just around the corner, we know many of our Emma Wallace women will be looking to celebrate in style. Whether you’re American or simply have a penchant for turkey and pecan pie, we’ve rounded up our favourite spots for some good old feasting, along with what we’d wear to each destination! Read on and get ready to embrace the season.
CUT at 45 Park Lane, London
This glitzy steakhouse is the first London foray for A-list US chef Wolfgang Puck, who rose to fame with Beverley Hills hotspot Spago. It’s part of the stunning Art Deco hotel 45 Park Lane and the décor is just as chic as you would imagine. Polished floors, leather banquettes and Damien Hirst artwork – this is a special setting for those who want that Instagram worthy backdrop. For Thanksgiving, you can enjoy a menu of dishes including a lobster ‘Louis’ cocktail with avocado and horseradish panna cotta, Norfolk Bronze turkey with cornbread stuffing and a key lime pie dessert. If the weather pulls through, you can even dine on the terrace overlooking the beauty of Hyde Park.
When it comes to this chic and civilised offering, we’d pair our stunning Lula Top featuring beautiful keyhole cut outs with our green Mariposa midi skirt. The green shade looks effortlessly elevated. Slick your hair into a low, pulled back bun and wear a high heeled ankle boot. Don’t forget to throw over our matching Laurie Mac for drinks on that epic terrace!
Sea Containers, London
Located on the banks of the Thames, the Sea Containers is the perfect destination for those who want to follow their feast with a stroll along the Southbank. We love the idea of their three-course Thanksgiving lunch which includes Turkey with all the trimmings, followed by a Sweet Potato Custard Tart with marshmallow, chocolate and sea salt ice cream – yum! Did we mention that some of the proceeds go to The Felix Project – a charity committed to feeding London’s most vulnerable. So, you can do good whilst enjoying the holiday moment.
Made a booking? We’d choose our mid-length blue Margie Dress. With a curved empire seam, a slim fit waist and bat sleeves – the silhouette is just as striking as the iconic Luth print that adorns it. Wear with flat knee-high boots (for the walk after) and your hair in loose waves to complete the look.
Cultivate, Hong Kong
An all-American feast in the heart of Hong Kong. Cultivate is well loved for its casual approach to fine dining with executive chef, Leonard Cheung at the helm. For the season, they’re offering up a delicious menu of buttermilk biscuits with cauliflower and endive, fresh Iwate scallops with jalapenos and Ossetra caviar and Boston lobster with fennels and mussel in a bouillabaisse. Don’t forget to round out your dinner with a selection of iconic Thanksgiving treats served with house-made ice creams.
Dressing for the occasion? We’d opt for our bang on-trend kilt style Ray Skirt to make a statement that’s still casual. Worn with our Rou Top and a pair of sneakers with socks. Feeling the chill? Throw over the Janet Cardi for a finishing touch.
Porterhouse Steak & Seafood, Hong Kong
The award-winning steak and seafood restaurant delivers decadent décor that will set the scene for an amazing celebration this Thanksgiving. Enjoy a refined, five-course menu created by executive chef Robert Zorzoli. You’ll kick off with Wagyu beef carpaccio with pickled mushrooms and charred Japanese eggplant, before moving on to a roasted squash and ginger soup with Italian meatballs. The main event? A turkey leg roll accompanied by herbed mashed potatoes, sauteed baby vegetables, and cranberry sauce! Finish with a decadent pumpkin and pecan pie, topped with a mascarpone Cointreau foam and vanilla ice cream. How indulgent!
With all that food on the menu, we’d choose a fit that can accommodate some serious eating but doesn’t compromise on fashion credentials. Our Lora Jumpsuit is perfect. With a cowl neck, wide leg and belt tie it screams ‘runway’. However, the soft and subtle jersey fabric means it’s super comfy to wear all dinner. Wear with a pair of chunky platforms and your hair down, tucked behind your ears.
Tavern On The Green, New York
If you’re lucky enough to be in the Big Apple for Thanksgiving, then we’d hot foot it to Central Park to enjoy a lunch at Tavern on the Green. With a traditional Thanksgiving spread including free-range turkey, whipped sweet potato puree and a pecan butterscotch tart, the menu will instantly make you feel thankful! Follow with a stroll around the pretty park to soak up the energy of the city that never sleeps!
We’d keep it cosy on this occasion. Pair our Kizzy Culottes with our Madeleine Top under our Bobbi sleeveless vest. Pull on some chunky flat ankle boots and your warmest coat and you’re ready to roll.
With so many ways to celebrate, we can’t wait to see how you mark the occasion. Don’t forget to tag us in your Thanksgiving content @emmwallacedesigner.
