Winter Wanderlust - The Best Places To Visit This Season

Strolling through Central Park as the autumnal leaves fall or basking in the sunshine as the crystal blue waves lap at your feet. Which option would you choose for a Winter escape?

With travel plans firmly back on the agenda, we know the Emma Wallace Woman can’t wait to wander. That’s why we’re rounding up the best places around the world to visit in November.

Whether you prefer laid back luxury or adventure fuelled getaways, there’s a destination to suit your style. Read on to find your wanderlust inspiration.

Seville, Spain

As one of the warmest spots in Spain, the high 20-degree weather in November is perfect for savouring all the city has to offer. By day, wander around the Mudejar architecture and sample the tempting tapas dishes stood up at the bar for an authentic feel. Le Geralda, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world is a must-see but, for Game of Thrones fans, the Alcázar of Seville is a sight that will make you feel as if you’ve stepped into the show. By night? Head to a rooftop bar for a cocktail (La Terraza de EME is perfect for drinks with epic views over the city) before taking in a flamenco show to finish the night off in stomping style.

Tucson, Arizona

A dream destination for foodies, hikers and anyone seeking sun in November, Tucson Arizona offers a new take on America for those eager to discover a different side away from the tourist traps of New York or LA. With its small-town vibe and Native American and Chicano cultural influences, Tucson is perfect for those who want to spend the day relaxing at an outdoor country music concert before heading to the colonial Spanish San Xavier del Bac Mission on the grounds of the San Xavier Indian Reservation in the Tohono O’odham Nation for an afternoon of exploration. For those who love an adventure then hiking Saguaro National Park or Sabino Canyons’ Seven Falls are must-visits for those who want the desert feel.

Vienna, Austria

A wonderful mélange of history, where the old-world meets the new. Vienna offers the balance of stunning architecture and a lively cultural scene. Whether you love art, music, food or simply immersing yourself in a new culture, this destination is a must-attend for any explorer. One thing we love about Vienna in November is the kick-off of ‘Christmas World’ on Rathausplatz. The largest Christmas market in the country promises a fairy-tale world with 150 stalls selling gifts, tree decorations, culinary treats, drinks, and snacks. There is even a Ferris wheel and light installations alongside a huge Christmas tree on Rauthausplatz. A truly magical experience for everyone to experience.

Mauritius

Floating in the Indian Ocean, the African island of Mauritius is a cultural melting pot cradled by bone-white beaches and azure water. With temperatures close to 30 degrees and eight hours of sunshine, Mauritius is the ultimate destination for those who love to let the waves lap at their feet. Glistening beaches, botanical gardens, and awe-inspiring snorkelling reefs, you won’t find a more idyllic option. For those who crave a bit more adrenaline, then hiking through rainforests, climbing mountains and even zip lining through trees will ensure you feel energised.

Tanzania

Head to Tanzania in late November and you’ll be in good company as this is when the annual Great Migration takes place. Enter the south of Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park and you’ll spy wildebeest, zebra and gazelles galloping their way though. The wonderfully warm weather makes these safari experiences ideal and means lions and elephants may even make an appearance. After taking in nature on land, consider travelling on to the mangrove-lined Mafia Island, where November falls inside the peak season for diving alongside whale sharks.

We’re always inspired by adventure so what are you waiting for? Choose your favourite location, book that flight and get ready to embrace another world…
