The Pickled Truth

Join us for an exciting and interactive pickling workshop with Carla from CHOMP, where we'll explore the art of preserving food in a sustainable way while sipping on wines from Crushed. Participants will learn how to create delicious pickles from seasonal ingredients, gaining hands-on experience in reducing food waste. Each ticket includes a jar for your homemade pickles to take home and enjoy!

Ticket includes:
- 1 glass of wine
- 1 jar for your pickles

Following the workshop, enjoy a casual conversation featuring 3 inspiring women entrepreneurs: our own Emma Wallace, Leigh-Ann from CRUSHED wine bar, and Carla from CHOMP. They will share their journeys, discussing the decisions they regret and the choices that have led to their successes. This is a unique opportunity to learn about sustainability in the kitchen while gaining insights into entrepreneurship. Come ready to pickle and chat!

About Leigh-Ann and Carla

Leigh-Ann Luckett, originally from South Africa, is the co-founder and Wine Director of Crushed Wine Bar + Retail in Hong Kong, where wine is served with warmth, curiosity, and a touch of fun. She is passionate about making wine approachable and helping people find bottles they genuinely love from producers who are committed to doing more good than just making good wine.

Half Swiss, half Chinese, Carla Martinesi was born in Hong Kong but spent much of her childhood in the Swiss mountains, where her love for nature blossomed. Carla returned to Hong Kong, driven by a desire to reconnect with her roots. After gaining valuable experience in various F&B roles across banqueting, restaurants, and kitchens, she became acutely aware of the alarming food waste crisis in the city. This realisation ignited her passion for sustainability and inspired her to launch CHOMP, a food-saving app designed to connect businesses with consumers eager to enjoy delicious, unsold food at discounted prices. Through CHOMP, Carla aims to not only reduce food waste but also cultivate a deeper appreciation for the value of food in our lives
