Return of the Waist

Return of the Waist

Oversized looks continue to dominate the shelves, but when it comes to the key trends for autumn/winter 22, designers took a more form-fitting approach.

Across all of the runways we saw a return to cinched waists with the hourglass shape reinforced for the season. Corsets were big news – whether it was the built-in corsets that created bodycon silhouettes at Sportmax and Versace or the incredible moulded metal panels worn at Dior and Balmain. Wherever you looked, there were references of the waist!

We love this fun and flirty style, so we’re giving you some tips on how to tap into this trend. Read on to discover more…

Tie It

Laurie Mac Emma Wallace UKWhen it comes to a fitted waist, nothing works better than a belt which you can use to cinch in. We love our Laurie Mac for just that reason. Delivered in a deep green shade with a matching belt, you can tie it tight to pull yourself in and define the shape you desire. With exaggerated bell sleeves, the volume will help to create added drama against the smaller waistline.

Cinch It

Beulah Shirt Emma Wallace UKThe perfect blend of East and West styling, our Beulah Shirt is a must-have for anyone looking to master the catwalk look. An oversized design and wide bell sleeves are expertly complimented by a long wrapping belt that draws your waist in and creates that much needed structure. Wear with classic black, tailored trousers and loafers to the office or style up with jeans and heels by night.

Wrap It

Lora Jumpsuit Emma Wallace UKWant to dial up the waist for a night-time look? Then our Lora Jumpsuit is your go to. Crafted in soft jersey for a relaxed feel, it comes with an extra-long tie belt which you can wrap and tie as you please. Double up to create a slim waist that looks perfect offset against the wide leg silhouette.

Corset But Make It Comfy

Kizzy Trouser Emma Wallace UKOur Estelle Top is the ultimate bustier to add to your wardrobe this season. With a nod to the on-trend corsets of the catwalk, this wrap front top offers a slightly less binding option for those eager to get the look. With a monochrome print, it’s guaranteed to help you stand out for all the right reasons. Wear with our matching Kizzy Trousers to complete the look and get ready to wow.

Finish With A Fishtail

Geneva Dress Emma Wallace UK

Nothing quite delivers that corset, cinched look like a fishtail dress. Our Geneva dress is the ultimate option. With a classic strapless shape, kick flare fishtail hemline and pulled in waist – it’s a chic silhouette we can’t get enough of. Oh, and did we mention it’s reversible? Giving you two looks in one!

Now you know how to nail the trend, it’s time to show us what you got! Tag us into your cinched styles so we can celebrate you.
