February 14th is just around the corner. Nothing sets the scene for you to show some love like Valentine’s Day but, we know the Emma Wallace Woman always like to do things differently!
Red roses and dinner reservations are so old school, in 2022 it’s all about mixing it up and finding new ways to celebrate love in every form.
Need some inspiration? Read on to get our top tips on how to celebrate Valentine’s in a new way.
Heading out to a restaurant may be a tradition for couples on Valentine’s but, overpriced set-menus and being surrounded by others often feels less than romantic in real life. Why not stay home and make your celebration a little bit more intimate?
We love the idea of turning your living room into a cosy nightime picnic. Turn the lights down low, scatter candles around the room, roll out a blanket and serve up your favourite dishes. One-on-one time will help you connect and it’s the perfect option if you’re still not sure about busy venues as we emerge from a post pandemic world. Want to make it even more special? Invest in a projector and project your favourite rom com movie onto the wall to watch together.
When it comes to styling, a home-based date means you can stay in your PJs. Our Rouge Nighty and matching Gown are perfect for keeping it sexy but cute.
The pandemic saw many of swap dates in the pub for dates on Zoom. Whilst for many of us, we’ve been reunited, for some couples, long distance or isolation means Valentine’s will be spent apart. However, not all is lost. Why not take your date online and ensure you can still celebrate your love with that special someone on the 14th?
Buy the same bottle of wine, crack it open and sip away deep in conversation through screen time. Lost in each other’s eyes, you’ll instantly feel closer together, even if you’re miles apart.
Zoom dates may make you think your outfit doesn’t matter but don’t forget the details! Dress up your on screen look by going all out with your earrings and you’ll be ready to wow, even if you stay in your jogging bottoms. We love the Astrid & Miyu Rope & Pearl Pendant Hoops paired with the Mystic Star Ear Cuff for dazzling impact.
Valentine’s may dominate the month but we have to say that Galentine’s is fast taking over. Held on the 13th February, this day is all about celebrating your girl mates and showing them how much they mean to you. Whether you’re single or loved up, it’s a day to shout out your beautiful friends and how amazing they are. So why not book cocktails and a catch up to really dial up the moment?
Out out with your besties? We’d opt for our Marieanne Top and matching Maroposa Skirt. With a print inspired by butterflies you’ll be ready to spread your wings and lift up your friends for the Queens they are!
Whilst Valentine’s might be about showing love for others, it’s also about showing some love towards yourself. Why not take the day to celebrate everything you are and have achieved? Run yourself the best bubble bath, indulge with a face mask, cook your favourite food and watch your favourite show with a glass of Champagne in hand. There’s no one who’s been there for you like you, so why not say thank you to yourself!
When it comes to celebrating yourself, we love a cosy yet chic outfit option. Our Kupu pant and Casey top co-ord in dusky blush is perfect for ringing the day in in style.
If you’re coupled up but sick of ‘staying home’ after so many months in lockdowns, then use Valentine’s Day to switch it up a gear and get out of your comfort zone. Find an adventure that will put you both to the test. Whether it’s a tandem sky dive, a hike in the hills, a trip to a new country or a day at a theme park, why not take the one you love somewhere totally unexpected and get their heart racing!
For those new experiences, we’d wear our Jade Jumpsuit. Its fiery red shade will get your heart beat up, whilst its versatility means it looks good paired with sneakers for an active adventure or with sandals for walks on the beach.
However you’re celebrating Valentine’s we know you’ll do it in style. Why not share your date night looks on Instagram and tag us in using #EmmaWallaceWoman so we can shout out your epic outfit.
