MILAN AND PARIS PUT ON A SHOW

MILAN AND PARIS PUT ON A SHOW

Whether it’s sipping on an espresso in a bustling café whilst gazing fondly at the Duomo or snacking on a croissant whilst wandering along the bank of the Seine, both Milan and Paris are cities on our bucket lists! Food, culture and adventure – they have it in spades! But one thing we also love about these cities is their fashion and, this month, they didn’t disappoint in the style stakes as their respective Fashion Weeks kicked off with epic flair.

Read on as we share the top trends and moments from the Autumn/Winter 22 showcases in both cities…

An Italian Affair

It was a season of firsts for the luxury labels showing at Milan Fashion Week. That included the much-anticipated debut collection of Bottega Veneta’s new artistic director Matthieu Blazy who filled the runway with sleek, minimal shapes including fluid tailored shirts and loose-fit trousers in inky tones, alongside flashes of frivolous fringing, teddy textured coats and shimmering camisole sequins. Meanwhile, Gucci unveiled a surprise collaboration with Adidas including tailored blazers and trousers with Adidas’ signature three-stripe logo seen on the sides.

Outside of these incredible debuts, we loved these trends…

Make Me Blush

Pale pinks popped on the Milan runways with the likes of Andreadamo showing textured ribbed and faux fur looks in the pastel shade, alongside the likes of Etro who showed velvet tailoring in the same soft tones. Using textures to revamp this subtle shade that compliments any skin tone, we loved this look as one to wear now rather than wait until autumn! Want to steal this style ahead of time? Our velvet Kupu Pant and Casey Top co-ord is bang on trend. Wear it with a faux fur jacket and fluffy pink sandals and you’ve nailed it!

Ladylike Luxe

Fendi, Jil Sander and Prada found their feminine sides by opting for cinched waists and smart workwear that felt prim yet oh so chic. Knee length skirts, high waists and a 1940s aesthetic delivered a powerful look that we’d love to wear at work. To get it before the season commences, our Mariposa pencil skirt is your must have. Wear with our NEW Lace Lana Top tucked in and a pair of skyscraper court shoes and you’re ready to boss the boardroom and the catwalk!

Wrap It Up

The runways showed the new styles for Autumn/Winter but we’re still feeling the chill of spring! With the temperatures on the low side, we loved seeing puffer coats rocking the runways once more. Duvet worthy designs were cropped at Versace while Dolce & Gabbana opted for a sleeping-bag inspired look which enveloped the wearer. Our So Puff Coat is the perfect way to copy this style whilst adding some flair for the spring season. With its butterfly inspired print, it’s vivid and bright whilst keeping the puffer texture to ensure you’re on trend. Wear it over jeans and our Rhopa Jumper to keep it casual and cosy.

Parisian Perfection

The final pitstop of the season, Paris concluded the Fashion Week round trip and didn’t disappoint. The Row hit highs with the style set but it was Valentino who really created a moment. For AW22, the fashion house debuted its own colour in collaboration with Pantone – ‘Valentino Pink PP’ – a deep but bright fuchsia tone. Each design was rendered entirely in this hue, save for a mid-show interlude of head-to-toe black looks.

Outside of this colourful clash there were a handful of trends we loved…

Tartan – Tastic

Tartan, plaid and check wools rocked the runway in so many guises. From preppy and traditional to rebellious and punk rock, there were two -piece suits in this fabric at Akris and a covetable cape at Nina Ricci. Meanwhile, Dior and Off-White all showed check separates. Want to get this plaid-perfect style? Our Suji Jacket is the ultimate throw over for instant fashion cred. Wear with our Fluture Skirt and heeled ankle boots if you want to go full-on for serious impact.

Knits For Days

Head to toe sweater knits rocked many a runway. At Acne Studios we saw deconstructed designs paired with matching scarves, whilst Chloé showed several spaced dyed sweater dresses. We love knitwear for every season so, if you want to steal this style before AW22, our NEW pieces from the Kaleidoscope edit are a must have. Opt for the Fleur Dress (our favourite) and wear it over our Alyssa Tee with sneakers by day and go bare with heels by night.

With the fashion week season drawing to a close, we can’t wait to see the trends being rocked in real life. Don’t forget to tag us in your OOTD and show us how your styling these looks.
