Let’s Hear It For Hollywood

Let’s Hear It For Hollywood

The Academy Awards is one of the biggest nights in the red-carpet calendar and this year didn’t disappoint. Whilst the carpet was reimagined in a champagne shade, the fashion on offer continued to wow us. From Michelle Williams looking like an ethereal angel in Chanel to the Queen of maternity fashion, Rihanna showcasing her stylish baby bump in an Alaia leather ensemble, the outfits on offer were a true feast for the eyes.

Whether they took home an award or not, here’s our five favourite star looks who shone as bright as the golden Oscar statues on display.

Cara Delevingne

Cara Delevingne

Cara may have had a controversial year, but, for The Oscars she made a triumphant return to her fashion best wearing this stand out Elie Saab Couture gown. The asymmetric shoulder detail, the high leg split and the full, flowing skirt in a stunning shade of red was everything we wanted it to be. Showing Cara is back with a bang!

Want to steal Cara’s style? Then our glamorous one shoulder, Tien gown in vivid red is the look you’ve been waiting for. With cut out details and a central split, you’ll feel like a winner the second you put it on.

Bailey Bass

Avatar star, Bailey looked every inch the Hollywood starlet in this chic yet sexy Zac Posen dress. The sumptuous satin, flowing sleeves with just the right amount of skin on show delivered the perfect pose worthy look.

Want to have your own angelic white moment? Then add our Lily Dress to your basket. Featuring a shoulder cut-out and wrap skirt, it’s the perfect statement style for the woman who loves glamour.

Michelle Yeoh

Michelle Yeoh

She picked up the Best Actress gong for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once and became the first South-East Asian performer to do just that. Iconic in her win, Michelle also won in the fashion stakes with her Dior Haute Couture gown. Clad in white feathers with a sheer top, she looked every inch the ethereal goddess in this custom creation.

Now we know a feather ball gown may be a bit OTT for day to day, however, if you want to channel the mix of volume and texture of Michelle’s dress, then try our Gabriella style. A party piece for all year round, the asymmetrical shoulder and ruffle details will take you from garden party to cocktails at a rooftop bar in an instant.

Lady Gaga

Lady GagaGothic glam meets uptown princess, we loved this look by Atelier Versace. The corset inspired bodice with sheer detail brought the drama, whilst the voluminous skirt ensured there was the right level of red carpet within. We love the drop waist for a more modern take on a classic.

Want to hero your waist like Gaga, but still go bold with a billowing skirt? Then our Classic Dungaree Set is a perfect pick. This oh so cool co-ord includes a full fishtail skirt and sequined top for a glamorous, grown up take on a red-carpet look.

Fan Bingbing

Fan Bingbing

Chinese actress, Fan brought the perfect blend of bling and boldness with her look by Tony Ward. The glittering, beaded fringe screamed old school Hollywood and paired perfectly with her up do. Meanwhile, the oversized green shawl brought a quirky twist that livened up the look and ensured it was modern and relevant.

Love Fan’s tinsel tastic style? Then our Betty Jumpsuit is the one for you. With silver sparkle, this statement piece is perfect for black tie events or for any moment when you want to feel that bit extra!

With so many star styles on display, the only question is – who will be your muse for your next black-tie affair? Whoever you choose, be sure to tag us in your look at @emmawallacedesigner.
