Give Your Wardrobe The Luck Of The Irish

Give Your Wardrobe The Luck Of The Irish

St Patrick’s Day (17th March) is fast approaching and, with it, comes parades and parties filled with Irish festivities to mark the occasion. Whether you’ll start your celebrations with a Baby Guinness shot or plan to string up shamrock decorations, this high energy day is one we can’t wait to partake in.

Not to mention, we also LOVE that it’s tradition to wear the colour of the Emerald Isle in honour of St Patrick. Whether it’s a soft shade or a bold bright, green is one of our favourite hues to rock.

Read on as we reveal the best places to celebrate and what we’d wear to attend.

A mega street party, this parade has a festival-like atmosphere for those ready to celebrate. Kicking off from around 12pm, the lively procession winds its way along a 1.5-mile route past the like of The Ritz and Whitehall. Head to Trafalgar Square where you’ll find Irish bands performing, delicious street food and pop-up bars. Of course, an obligatory pint of Guinness can always be found.

Bring a touch of green to your outfit in the form of our Lana Lace Top. This boxy tee with cute bow details delivers just the right touch of ‘look at me’ attitude. Wear with jeans and sneakers to keep it casual, cool and comfy.

Suzanne Jumpsuit Green Emma Wallace UK

Two of East London’s liveliest hideouts are teaming up for a tasty St Patrick’s Day celebration – live-fire restaurant Acme Fire Cult and Dalston’s 40ft Brewery. Expect award-winning grass-fed beef and seafood treats transformed into one-off dishes by chefs Andrew Clarke and Daniel Watkins. Eat your way through a decadent Irish menu before heading to the after-party where the venues will be mixing it up with DJs to keep things going until 2am.

Want to have a ‘green’ moment that can take you from dinner table to dance floor? Then our Suzanne Jumpsuit is the ultimate pick. Wear it with a pair of sky-high platforms and get ready to showcase your own Irish jig.

Kiku Pyjama Set Emma Wallace UK

If you’d rather celebrate this occasion at home, then how about an Irish movie marathon? Colin Farrell, Jamie Dornan, Cillian Murphy, Michael Fassbender, Liam Neeson – we love an Irish actor, so why not pick their best flicks and watch them back-to-back? Whip up some Irish treats (Guinness Chocolate Puddings anyone?) to enjoy whilst you revel in the best actors Ireland has to offer.

Staying home calls for an outfit that’s as comfy as it is chic. We’d pick our emerald green Kiku Pyjama Set paired with some green fluffy slippers to deliver a night in look that’s so good, it might convince you to go out!

Lora Jumpsuit Emma Wallace UK

If you’re celebrating in Hong Kong, then we’d suggest heading to The Chinnery, hidden away on the first floor of the Mandarin Oriental. Delivering Irish delights like Guinness-braised beef cheek, Irish slow-cooked lamb stew and whiskey cake, it’s the perfect place to embrace the Emerald Isle. Order yourself a St Patrick Cooler cocktail, a decadent mix of Jameson, fresh lime, marmalade, and orange bitters to leave yourself shaken and stirred by the occasion.

Dialling up the decadence calls for one of our favourite outfits. We’d pick our Lora Jumpsuit in vivid green for a standout moment. The wide leg silhouette and cowl neck delivers details that demand attention, whilst the soft and laid-back fabric keeps it comfortable. Wear with cute, sling back court shoes and get ready to rock that Irish style.

Pia Gown Green Emma Wallace UK

Want to dial up the drama and opt for a black-tie affair? Then the St Patrick's Society Emerald Gala Ball 2023 at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong won’t disappoint. Here you can enjoy fine dining, live music, and free-flowing drinks to celebrate all things Irish. The bougiest way to enjoy this holiday!

If you need to wow, then our Pia Gown in a bold shamrock shade is just the look. An elegant evening look with waist cut-out details for a hint of sex appeal. Wear with barely there stilettos and a small clutch to complete the look.

Now you know where to celebrate and what to wear, it’s time to show the Irish how much we love their culture. Don’t forget to tag us in your celebrations at @emmawallacedesigner.
