After several months of staying at home and dating virtually, the question is whether you are ready for a ‘real world’ first date? Whether it is a new romance, someone you got to know over zoom or a long term partner you haven’t seen for some time, the first time you do see them again is sure to bring some flutters of excitement, and pressure on what to wear.
Read on for some tips on how to style for each occasion and don’t forget your face mask and to keep to social distancing rules.
Beach Days
Our geometric pattern Jasmine Romper is perfect for standing out and feeling relaxed and easy going at the same time. Team with leather sandals and a chic straw bag to make you beach-ready. Brighten up with some colourful accessories like a beaded necklace or rope-tie bracelet. Now you are ready for a day out on the beach, whether it’s a stroll along the beach or a brunch on the boulevard, you will feel chic and ready to impress. For cooler days or evenings, team with the Jane Jacket. Just don’t forget the SPF and sunhat!
Home Cinema
Not ready for a packed cinema just yet, pick your favourite classic and head for the couch. Dim the lights, fluff out the pillows, pull out a throw and you’re ready for a cozy first date. Staying in doesn’t mean not making an effort, however it’s a fine balance between overly comfortable and dressing up for home. We suggest the Angelo trousers in soft satin silk which is comfortable enough for a movie date but chic enough to wow. Pair with the Jessica Top in white or black and pull on the matching Vinh Jacket in khaki if you’re feeling the breeze or air-con. Accessorize with fun jewellery and sandals to keep comfort levels relaxed. Don’t forget to stock up on popcorn and wine!
Park Life
Keep colours in shades of pastel as you bring out the nature-loving side of you and your date on a leisurely stroll through the park – a perfect setting to get to know each other in fresh air. The Jerry Top is pastel sweatshirt perfection with hand embroidered metallic beading for a fresh and comfortable top. Pair with white trousers or the Alva Mini-skirt and keep the accessories pale in colour to match the tones of your outfit. Going to the park doesn’t mean you can’t bring out the statement gold jewellery… add some key items to elevate this look and go for gold.
Picnic Chic
Pack the picnic basket with your favourite cheese, cold cuts, olives and home-made bread (showing off this skill acquired during quarantine will surely impress) and head to your favourite spot for an afternoon of conversation and food. The Suzanne Jumpsuit in red is ideal for hours of sitting on grass or running around, teamed with flat leather sandals and a summer bag. Complement with an animal print scarf or cat eyed sunglasses from our Carla Colour collection. This stunning bold red colour screams confidence and a woman who knows what she wants. There is only one word for this look… HOT!
Romantic Dinner
If all it is you really want is a good ol’ traditional dinner for 2 then go for it! There are plenty of restaurants that are now serving and if you don’t find one you’re comfortable with then dust off those recipe books and cook one yourself! Either way dress to impress with a classic simple dress like the Corey Dress which is still unqiue with the zipper back detailing. Add pops of colour to an overall dark look through your outerwear choice or evening clutch, you can never go wrong with a fitted dress. Last advice but not least… team with killer heels!
