The Journey

Camille Cheng is a three-time Olympian who has represented Hong Kong on the world stage with discipline, grace, and quiet determination. A freestyle swimmer and seven-time Asian Games medallist, she competed at Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, and Paris 2024 — carrying both national pride and a deep commitment to mental wellbeing.

Born in Hong Kong to a Taiwanese father and French mother, Camille grew up between cultures and cities — Hong Kong, Beijing, and later California. She swam for the University of California, Berkeley, and went on to become one of Hong Kong’s most consistent international swimmers.

Beyond the pool, she is a psychology graduate (currently a sports and performance psychologist in training), co-founder of the youth mental health charity Mind the Waves, and an IOC Mental Health Ambassador. After years of elite competition, she uses her platform to advocate for mental health in sport and beyond, encouraging young people and athletes to treat mental strength with the same seriousness as physical training — and to see asking for support as courage, not weakness.

Camille's Definition of Empowerment
‘do something that scares you everyday’ - It was my high school yearbook quote, I like it because to me it represents how growth happens outside of our comfort zone.

Camille’s style is clean, athletic, and quietly confident — pieces that feel easy to move in, polished enough for public moments, and true to a life balanced between training, advocacy, and everyday living.

A Moment of Reflection
What is one ritual that fuels your demanding schedule?
In a career built on early mornings, intense focus, and constant pressure to perform, Camille returns to intentional pauses — moments that protect her energy and keep her grounded beyond the scoreboard like journaling, hiking, puzzles and baking.
A Favourite Moment
Representing Hong Kong across three Olympic Games, and using that platform to help change the conversation around mental health for the next generation.
Piece of Inspiration
Asking for support is not weakness — it’s courage.
