Confidence Beyond The Runway
Confidence Beyond The Runway
The Journey

Lucie Petit is a French model, photographer, DJ, and founder of Hong Kong Model Camp. Through her modelling workshops, she goes beyond runway training to help young people build genuine confidence, self-expression, and body positivity.

With warmth and authenticity, Lucie is redefining what it means to “model” — teaching young women and men to own who they are, inside and out.

A professional model and creative, she founded HK Model Camp to create a more holistic and empowering experience for aspiring models. Her workshops focus on confidence-building, self-expression, and embracing individuality rather than fitting into narrow standards. She continues to inspire through modelling, photography, and music as a DJ.

Lucie represents the spirit of the Emma Wallace Women series — women who use their creativity and platform to lift others up.

Lucie's Definition of Empowerment
Lucie: To me, empowerment isn't something you give someone — it’s creating the environment, tools, and confidence for people to realise they already have the power within themselves. In my coaching work, empowerment is when a student shifts from being nervous about standing out to fully owning their presence.

My style is minimalist, timeless and high-contrast. My baseline is simple and classic (lots of black, white and denim) matched with bold accessories or a pop of colour. Even when I wear vibrant colours, I always prefer the solid tones, clean lines and interesting textures over prints and motifs.

A Moment of Reflection
What is one ritual that fuels your demanding schedule?
Lucie: Staying grounded for me comes down to reconnecting with nature and myself. My morning starts by drinking a lot of water followed by a hot coffee to officially set the day in motion, followed by a stretch or walk outside. Heading into the sauna for meditation is my dedicated time to completely unplug, sweat out the noise, and reset. Whenever the weather allows, my ultimate reset is heading to the beach. Getting my feet in the sand, taking in the ocean breeze, and going for a swim is the most powerful way I reconnect with myself and stay grounded.
What's Your Proudest Moment?
My proudest moment recently was at Runway Asia, watching my student Duan take the stage. By day, she’s a professional in finance, but through incredible dedication and attending our runway classes every single Tuesday for a year, she built the skills and confidence to walk the fashion show. Seeing her balance her corporate life while completely owning that stage reminded me exactly why we do what we do at HK MODEL CAMP.
Piece of Inspiration
Lucie: Confidence isn’t something you wait to feel before you start, it’s something you build because you showed up. Every time you step outside your comfort zone, try something new, or stand a little taller in a room where you felt out of place, you prove to yourself what you’re capable of.
