2020 is just around the corner and here at Emma Wallace, we’re getting ready to party the night away in style!
This week, we’re rounding up the hottest places around the world to celebrate the arrival of a new decade.
Here are our top picks…
Duck & Waffle, London
The sky-high restaurant is a favourite of the London elite but for New Year’s Eve this destination is welcoming in the new decade with a 24-hour bonanza, fuelled by champagne, DJs, and plenty of food. Book your place for one of the two dinner sittings, featuring canapés followed by a five-course tasting menu. Afterwards, continue the fun at the bar, where DJs will keep things lively up to the countdown and beyond. If you last until 2am, ‘The Sunrise’ after party will dish up the first breakfast of the year to those still going, which will merge into a New Year’s Day brunch, available until 5pm on the 1st January! If you can last the whole event, then we salute you!
Nassau, Bahamas
If you’re on the hunt for an altogether more tropical vibe, then nothing beats the Bahamas. Shed the winter weather and head to the huge street carnival called the Junkanoo Parade. A beloved Bahamian tradition that has been around since the 16th century, you’ll be greeted by elaborate outfits, music, and drums. A feast for the senses, cram in a siesta nap beforehand as the parade doesn’t kick off until 2am!
The Top Of The Standard, New York
Known as the Boom Boom Room, The Standard with its opulent retro interiors and epic 360-degree views of the Meatpacking district is the perfect place to celebrate the dawn of a new decade. Take the lift to level 18 to embrace the revelry and take your table which will be stocked with bottles of Moet and Belvedere to get you feeling merry. From 10pm, the Pointer Sisters will be performing, inviting you to Jump for their love. We don’t know about you but we’re so excited and we just can’t hide it!
Zuma, Hong Kong
A countdown even the most discerning pleasure seekers will enjoy, Zuma is offering a decadent night of flowing drinks and masquerade themed revelry in a sultry theatre setting. Arrive early to make the most of the incredible live entertainment, with DJ Emanuel Diaz and performers keeping the party in full swing as the midnight hour approaches. Make it a night to remember by beginning with an exclusive New Year’s Eve Yashoku, which includes free-flow food, champagne, sake and beer from 8pm to 10pm—plus granted entry into the spectacular countdown party.
Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
With the weather a delicious temperature, the party city of Rio is the perfect destination for those eager to tap into 2020! Head to Copacabana Beach where you can experience Réveillon. One of the largest NYE celebrations in the world, guests dress in white like Candomblé priestesses. At midnight partygoers throw flowers into the water for the African sea goddess Lemenjá. With plenty of fireworks, dancing, live music and champagne, it’s a NYE party to remember.
Now you know where to go, all you need to do is plan the perfect outfit! We’re opting for sparkle all the way to greet 2020 as we mean to go on – shining bright.
