Read on as our Design Director Emma explains more about the inspo behind these sumptuous silk pieces…
“The Emma Silk selection is one of my favourite edits. I love how versatile it is and that you can literally wear it to bed or to the bar – simply switch up your accessories and glam and you’re good to go!
The NEW prints came to me on a day trip to the beautiful Hong Kong Island of Cheung Chau. The blend of old-world charm and vibrant new attractions felt so inspiring, and I instantly knew I needed to create from it. The one thing that pulled me in was the quaint houses with lovely, tiled doorsteps that had wildflowers growing in the cracks of the little, old dwellings. Seeing this burst of new life springing from older architecture delivered such a delightful juxtaposition and it set me on a path to design something special.
Our Izzy daisy design has a retro feel with flower power potential. In a muted mustard, it’s the perfect print to help you flourish. I’d wear the Izzy Nighty with a pair of metallic stilettos, gold clutch and your hair slicked back into a bun for a date night dinner, or pick the Cami Set with slippers for a Netflix evening in.
Our NEW Graeme print has an altogether more architectural feel, with brick like rectangles adorning the silk in chocolate brown with pops of citrus shades and purple piping. Wear the full-length PJs (which are now available in regular and tall) with brown loafers, an oversized tote and thick rimmed glasses for the office or dial up the drama with a pair of chunky platforms, a bouncy blow dry and leather shoulder bag for cocktails on the terrace.
Pastels and lace are the perfect duo, and our Gillian print pairs these for the woman who loves to feel flirty and feminine. The Gillian Dressing Gown is the slinky and sexy wrap you’ve longed for. I think it looks great belted as a mini dress with barely there skyscraper heels and a little black shoulder bag, or I’d wear it slipped over a white tank, jeans and Birkenstocks for a look that will wow at brunch.
For the summer, we’ve dialled up the fun with two exclusive prints delivered in our shorty PJ style. The Morgan print has a 70s feel that pulls on botanical beauty. Featuring pops of yellow, blue and pink, it’s a style that stands out whether you’re on the sofa or strolling around the city. Meanwhile, our Aila shorty set amps up the floral display in blue, pink and navy for a bold look that’s equally as cute lounging at home or worn over a bikini by the beach.
Now prints that pack a punch are close to my heart, but I also love a simple nod to the 90s that keeps it clean and classic. Our Emma, Talia and Amber styles deliver just that. Magenta is the colour of the year so is a must have, whilst the lilac and amber orange come with just the right dose of dopamine inducing design.
The key with the boudoir trend is not to overthink it. Act on instinct, pair pieces with freedom and push yourself out of your comfort zone.”
