Get Ahead Of The Game - How To Steal SS21 Style Now!

Whilst it may have been a very different series of Fashion Weeks this season, it was incredible to see the world of fashion switch up their approach to deliver some epic runway shows in a digital or distanced format to ensure we continued to get our dose of style, even if it was from afar.

We know the Emma Wallace Woman is always in front of the trends and that’s why we’re rounding up the top looks from the Spring/Summer 21 catwalks that you might have missed AND giving you some top tips on how to steal the new season style ahead of time.

Here’s the runway rundown…

Next Level Neck Trimmings

The collar has been making a comeback for a few seasons now. Beginning last year with the oversized white Ganni shirt and moving through to Miu Miu who dominated with embroidered sailor collars at their resort 2020 show. However, for SS21 designers kept this flowing with the likes of Emilia Wickstead showing off layered cotton collars wrapped around shoulders and RIXO releasing wearable aquatic-themed, printed silk shirts with contrasting collar trims. Whether you want to go cute or formal, you can bet your bottom dollar the collar has got staying power!

Get the look ahead of the season by glitzing up your neckline. Our Zhen Romper from our new ‘Secret’ edit features beading on a snap fastened chocker style collar that adds an on-trend pop perfect for the festive party season. Pair with opaque tights and chunky boots to keep it feeling cool and casual, or dress up with sky high barely-there stilettos to go straight to the dance floor with a cocktail in hand. Add on our Astrid & Miyu Across The World Ring for a touch of bling and keep the rest of your jewellery simple to let the collar do the talking.

Trousers With Power

Fearless yet flattering, for Spring 21 we saw power trousers making a return with a revitalised silhouette that is supersized and effortlessly wearable. Victoria Beckham showed us split hem high-waisted straight leg trousers so long in length that they pooled on the floor, whilst Margaret Howell’s trousers came oversized in flared, fluid forms.

For those eager to unleash their own ‘boss babe’ vibe, then our Patti Trousers are the perfect place to start. A worthy wide leg, high waisted trouser with a fabric tie belt detail that is guaranteed to ramp up your style credentials. Keep it casual and pair with trainers and our Peggy Sue Top tucked in for a tasteful take on laid back luxe or go formal and style with our NEW Lienna Shirt. An elegant twist on the classic tuxedo skirt that features beautiful hand beaded embellishment on the collar – nailing two trends in one look!

Spring Knits

With the temperatures set to dip, this in-between weather can make mastering your style tricky. It may have been a spring showcase, but the catwalks were still awash with knits that will keep you warm. In fact, the SS21 collections turned the failsafe sweater into a trans-seasonal hybrid. Joseph offered up dreamy draped pullovers, whilst Roksanda showcased poet’s sleeved take on a classic sweatshirt silhouette.

We adore a trend that’s cosy and chic in equal measure and you can wrap up in this trend early with our Sue Top released this week in off white! The Embroidered Sweat, our Sue Top is a stylish way to update your casual style. With bell sleeves (tapping into yet another trend), it features a heavy wool embroidery on the front designed by Emma Wallace herself. Pair with our premium jeans to keep it laid back at home or add a splash of satin with our Gwendolyn Skirt for a feminine feel that’s perfect for a relaxed brunch date.

Zoom Jewellery

Lockdown had clearly offered up one unique muse for the SS21 runways with concepts like socially distanced dressing storming down the catwalks. One trend we want to wear now is the concept of Zoom friendly jewellery. Maximalist pieces are rising in popularity and it’s no surprise when we all want to wow on that video call - jewellery is just the ticket. Dangling chain earrings dominated at Faith Connexion and Social Work, whilst Jason Wu teamed up with Miami-based jewellery brand éliou for an uplifting alternative for his Tulum-inspired collection.

Add some drama to your details with our Astrid & Miyu Crossing Lines Hoops in Gold – guaranteed to help you shine on camera every day. Keep your upper half simple to let your jewellery do all the talking and pair with our NEW Koh Top.

Puff It Up

The voluminous sleeve has become something of a wardrobe mainstay, but the SS21 collections brought a tougher attitude to this favourite silhouette. At Loewe, designer Jonathan Anderson sent billowy sleeved shirt dresses down the runway, whilst Isabel Marant offered curved-sleeved cropped jackets and Altuzarra turned the volume up on the traditional trench with a puffed sleeve.

We love to play with proportions, and you can spring into this trend early with our Laurie Mac. With its exaggerated bell sleeves in a warm rust shade, we’ve transformed this classic piece into a contemporary must-have. Wear over our Mio dress with skyscraper heels for a daring evening look or go for our Lori Jumper, Premium Jeans and knee-high boots for a nostalgic feel that is effortlessly chic.

Fashion may be evolving but so are you! Get ahead of the trends and get ready to stand out for all the right reasons.
